With the exercise and diet you do, I would follow the column of highly insulin sensitive, plus with being in the honeymoon phase still, randomly producing insulin.

NovoLog (insulin aspart) typically starts to work within 15 minutes after injection, peaks in about 1 to 3 hours, and lasts for approximately 3 to 5 hours. However, individual responses can vary, so it’s important to monitor blood glucose levels and adjust accordingly.

The amount you inject is going to last hours so account for that knowing if you are going to be walking a lot or doing activity, and inject less. This is where dilution may come in handy so you can inject a half unit or make sure you have smarties or glucose tablets on hand to counter any lows while insulin is in your system. However, very small amounts of insulin will likely not bring you too low unless you are running or doing an activity like that which significantly drops your number. With the dr’s sliding scale, they are already giving you a buffer to not go too low because they prefer keeping patients on the higher end of blood sugars.
